I’m Leanne Marshall, better known as L.T. Marshall — a Scottish author, maker, and lifelong creative who believes stories and handmade things are better when they’re shared.

I write emotionally driven romance and fantasy, filled with flawed characters, deep feelings, and the kind of twists that stay with you long after the final page. I’ve been telling stories since my teens, though I didn’t step into publishing until later — proof that there’s no such thing as being “too late” to begin.

Alongside writing, I’m an avid crafter, reader, and DIY enthusiast. I work with yarn, wood, fabric, and found materials, often learning as I go. I’ve always been the sort of person who fights through a new path first, figures it out, then turns back to say “come this way — I’ll show you what helped me.” That spirit runs through everything I share here, from tutorials and behind-the-scenes posts to mentoring fellow writers and makers starting out.

My creative life is rooted in a make-do-and-mend mindset — using what’s to hand, working thoughtfully rather than perfectly, and staying grounded in real life rather than ideals. Sustainability matters to me in practical ways, not performative ones.

This space isn’t just about books or things for sale. It’s a welcoming corner for craft lovers, book people, and curious creatives — a place to share the journey, encourage one another, and remind ourselves that creativity doesn’t have to be polished to be worthwhile.

I’m passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces and have long been an advocate against abuse and for neurodivergent creatives, including the autistic and ADHD community.

Put the kettle on, pull up a chair, and come this way.

This is what my creative world looks like — stories, hands-on making, and everything in between.

Stories live here — and so do handmade things.
Books are available via my website, and creative makes can be found in my Etsy shop.

A peek into my story world

One of the things I love most about writing is getting to explore a story from a different angle. Alexi’s View is a bonus installment in the Carrero series, written for readers who wanted a deeper, more intimate glimpse into Alexi Carrero’s perspective.

This short addition revisits familiar moments through new eyes, adding extra layers to the journey he shares with Camilla. It’s a quieter, more reflective piece — one for readers who enjoy lingering a little longer in a story world.

If you’d like to explore it, Alexi’s View is available here:

Stomach clenching intensity

“I knew just by the brief meeting of this pair in the previous trilogy their would be fireworks. That being said, it’s more like constant drive-bys! Just when you think it’s safe to enjoy the banter and take another stroll toward sanity, these two explode like a machine gun and have you ducking for cover. The last page leaves you teetering on the edge of your seat hoping for at least one if not two miracles!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First off look at that cover! How can you resist? I couldn’t. I was not disappointed, even though this is not my usual type of book. The author has a way of bringing not just the main characters to life, but the setting of the small Scottish village and laird manor. and the side characters. You end up feeling like you are part of the wacky community. I went through all the emotions whilst reading this book and for me, I need that in a book. There is plenty of laugh out loud moments as well. It really is a cozy sweet romance. It also covers issues of mental health in a delicate way that some books do not, which i appreciate. I could not put the book down and will definitely be rereading to revisit my favourite characters again. I felt the pacing was good, which is usually one of the issues i have with this genre and I really like the author’s style of writing. I hope she writes more books like this.
