Music has always been a huge part of how I write. I’m one of those people who can hear a song and immediately attach it to a character, a relationship, a scene, or an entire book. Sometimes a playlist exists before I’ve even finished writing the story because apparently my characters need their own soundtrack as well as their own collection of emotional problems.
Over the years, I’ve made playlists for quite a few of my books, and rather than leaving them scattered around Spotify, I’ve pulled them all together here.
Some songs inspired scenes while I was writing, some fit particular characters or relationships, and others simply have the right feel for that world. So if you like listening to music while you read, or fancy revisiting one of the books with its soundtrack playing, this is where you’ll find them.

You absolutely don’t need to listen to the playlists to enjoy the books, but if you’re anything like me and music makes fictional worlds feel that little bit more real, give them a try.
You might even find a few new favourite songs along the way.
And if you hear one and immediately think, Oh God, that is SO them… then I did my job. 😂
🎵 My Theme Tune
Before you dive into the book playlists, this one is mine.
I made my own little L.T. Marshall theme tune, because apparently writing books, designing things, crafting and collecting hobbies wasn’t enough and I needed to make myself a soundtrack too. 😂

🎧 Awakening Playlists
The playlists created for my Awakening books. These lean into the atmosphere, characters, relationships and emotions running through the series.
❤️ Carrero Playlists
Of course the Carreros have playlists. These people have enough drama to require background music.
The Carrero playlists are filled with songs I connected to the characters, relationships and moments throughout the books. Some will make complete sense the second you hear them, while others probably only make sense inside my head. 😂
If you’re rereading the series, try putting the relevant playlist on while you disappear back into their world.
🎵 Teen Drama Playlists
And then we have Teen Drama, which naturally needed its own music because teenage emotions are never dramatic enough without a soundtrack.
These playlists capture the relationships, chaos, heartbreak and general emotional messiness of the books.
